Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage is a 2010 first-person horror thriller video game developed by Zoetrope Interactive and published by Iceberg Interactive. This game is the sequel to the 2009 first-person horror thriller Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder. In this sequel, you’ll continue the story of Loath Nolder, a young woman whose mother and sister have mysteriously disappeared, and are hunted by the Dark Lineage.
The game is made in Europe. It features a dark, mysterious setting that is heavily based on the mythos of H. P. Lovecraft. It is also done in full 3D, making it feel more like a first-person shooter than a first-person adventure game. Players will have to explore a maze of demons and overcome hordes of undead in order to survive.
The game is also set in a sleepy town called Arkhamend. Players will have to explore a Victorian mansion and a dilapidated building in the middle of forbidding woods, and venture through dimly lit underground tunnels and buildings. Like its predecessor, Dark Lineage offers players an even greater sense of terror than before, and it features many new puzzles to solve. However, some fans of the first game may find it easier to pick up Dark Lineage than the sequel.
The second volume of the Darkness Within series is titled «The Pursuit of Loath Nolder.» It follows the detective Howard Loreid as he explores his own horrendous past. Memories that should have been forgotten still haunt him, and things he should have left behind are never far behind. While the game is a fantastic adventure, the dark lineage will have many fans confused and scared.
The game is visually impressive, with a variety of environments including a Victorian mansion, a derelict nursing home, and creepy underground caverns. There are some great effects in the game, including the use of light and shadow manipulation and optional noise filters. However, some players have experienced major bugs while playing the game. In addition, the interface is a bit different than many adventure games. You can easily get lost in this game’s world, causing you to miss important details.
