X-COM: Apocalypse is a 1997 science fiction tactical strategy game developed by Mythos Games. It was released on Microsoft Windows and DOS systems, and is the third installment in the popular series. It features a variety of new characters, weapons, and missions. Players must decide between the various squads to save the world. In addition to exploring the world’s many potential threats, players must decide which tactics will be most effective in defending civilization.

Apocalypse is far more complex than its predecessor, and features a completely redesigned interface and graphics. The game’s main objective is to prevent alien hostile takeovers while minimizing collateral damage. It also requires you to raid other organisations, including the Mega Primus. While real-time missions are still a large part of the game, the player is able to switch between them by paused and real-time missions.

The game also introduces new enemies and a more complex RPG-style stat system for the soldiers. The game’s plot revolves around a last city of humanity, a future that is plagued by dimensional aliens. Aside from the aliens, MegaPol will be less capable of responding to hostile attacks in the city, and they will attempt to infiltrate the CEOs of corporations and other organisations to retake the city.

X-COM: Apocalypse is a pre-Alpha game, but the engine is open to public criticism. Apocalypse is open source and has a GitHub repository where you can find more information. In addition to the engine itself, the game also has a variety of customization options. Those interested in the game can add cargo modules, targeting systems, new engines for human craft, and cloaking devices.

Mega-Primus is an extremely complex society, governed by thirteen senators. There are various large corporations that maintain the environment, economy, and social structure of the city. In addition to this, there are various marginalized groups, such as Sectoid-human hybrids and androids, and each group has its own governing body. Mega-Primus’s economy and society are dependent on alien artifacts, which are manufactured and sold in its workshops.

As an early adopter, I was skeptical about the game’s pacing and plot twists. Despite the game’s enticing storyline, I found it lacked polish and a solid combat system. In addition, the level design and graphics were less than satisfying. There was a lack of diversity, and some of the game’s most unique aspects were not implemented fully. However, the X-COM team is back and ready to fight any alien invasions.

Players will discover new strategies as they progress through the game. The AI is constantly tweaking its tactics and adjusting difficulty accordingly. You can choose from different kinds of enemies, including the same XCOM agents from previous titles. In Apocalypse, you will find yourself dealing with dozens of different aliens in the same mission. You’ll be rewarded with a rewarding experience if you can kill them all!
